Course Description This course will put you in the room with a master clinician evaluating and treating a patient with a chronic stroke. You will see what outcome measures the therapist chooses and how she incorporates the patients goals and initial measures into her treatment plan.
You will hear her thought process and how she incorporates her evidence-based knowledge and clinical experience throughout her clinical decisions process. This course will discuss different options and approaches in treatment of hemiparesis in chronic stroke and how you can apply this to your patient with stroke.
Learning Objectives Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
1. Compare valid tools for assessments of impairments, functional limitations, and disability of the upper extremity, trunk, and lower extremity for hemiparesis in chronic stroke.
2. Perform a focused evaluation and set goals based on patients personal goals using valid objective measures and tool and justification for physical therapy

4. Implement new treatment ideas for upper extremity hemiparesis.
5. Confidently prescribe home exercise program and set goals for progression in treatment of chronic stroke.
