Because they feel BROKEN.

John Rusin - Functional Hyperthrophy Training

Over the past couple of years, I’ve coached some of the world’s top fitness experts.

These are people you know: You’ve read their articles in magazines. You’ve seen their photos on Instagram. You’ve probably even followed their training programs.

So, why are they calling me?

Because they know that 12 weeks on my program is a surefire way to train without getting hurt, start lifting heavy again, and make gains faster than ever before.

You see, I’ve spent the past 10+ years developing and testing a proven system to help you gain muscle and strength — even if you’re dealing with chronic aches and pains.

I’ve systematically tested this 12-week program on thousands of clients, including olympic-level athletes and world-class strength coaches.

And now, for the first time ever, I’m making it available to you.
The fitness expert other fitness experts
come to for help.

Hi, I’m Dr. John Rusin.

I’ve built the reputation of being the strength and performance coach that other fitness experts come to for help. Especially when they’re hurting and can’t perform the way they used to.

Most programs assume people are in perfect condition before they start. But I know most people have been coached improperly or have something to work around.

So the way I approach things is different: My programs are reverse-engineered to keep clients from getting hurt AND to maximize their strength and performance.

You see, most other experts fall into one of two camps:

Strength coaches who are great at helping people get stronger—but don’t understand how to coach movement and keep people pain-free.
Physical therapists who are great at keeping people healthy—but don’t understand how to help people build muscle or increase strength.

I believe both of these extremes are wrong. They each have short-term benefits, but neither create athletes that are strong and resilient for the long term. That’s why I pride myself on being both a strength coach AND a doctor of physical therapy.

I’ve been in this game for over a decade and have learned a lot after working with thousands of clients. One thing I know for absolute certain is this:
If you’re serious about your training,
your body has taken a serious beating.

Heavy squats, max deadlifts, high-intensity intervals, drop-sets on the bench…if you’ve ever picked up a heavy weight and then put it back down, then you know what it’s like to tweak a shoulder or flare up your lower back.

Not only are these types of injuries incredibly common, they’re also EXACTLY where most people get stuck and start losing all their progress.

They get hurt, and they try to rest or scale back their training. Some stop training altogether. It can take them months or even years to get back to where they were. If they ever get there at all…

But take it from me and thousands of successful clients: It doesn’t have to be that way….

” At age 58, I’m still able to bench and military press hard on a consistent basis without pain and I’m convinced that the warmup drill from FHT is a big reason why.”

Charles Staley, Legendary Strength Coach

“For over 6 years I suffered from a shoulder injury that prevented me from going even remotely heavy. In a matter of weeks, utilising Dr. Rusin’s recommendations I was able to get back to pressing without pain.”

Christian Thibaudeau, Strength Coach, Founder of thibarmy.com

“With FHT I put on pounds of muscle, improved my strength (even on lifts I didn’t do during the phases) and most importantly – I did it all with no pain.”

Undeniable Fitness Truths
From Over 1,000 Successful Clients

If you’re going to gain muscle, lose fat, and move well, I believe you should follow a program from someone who doesn’t just look good on Instagram. You should learn from someone who has helped thousands of people gain muscle, lose fat, and move better than ever before (and who has done the same themselves).

I also believe if you’re going to take someone’s advice, they need to have a proven track record of helping people from all experience levels and backgrounds—from olympic level athletes, to contractors, teachers, and desk jockeys.

That’s why I want to share some surprising truths I’ve uncovered after working in the fitness industry for over 10+ years and working with thousands of clients about why most training programs fail.
AS SEEN IN:

Undeniable Fitness Truth #1
You don’t need more motivation;
you need faster results.

It’s human nature.

When we follow a training program that takes FOREVER to deliver meaningful results, we lose faith that what we’re doing is working. We start phoning in our workouts and eventually skip the gym altogether.

The more we do this, of course, the less results we see.

But what happens when we follow a training program that helps us get results fast? We want to do more of it! We know that if we do the work, we’ll get the reward.

That’s why I structure my training programs differently than most other fitness experts out there. I want my clients to get long-lasting results—but I also want them to make progress on their very first workout.

After all, it’s a lot easier to find time for the gym when you’re crushing weights, feeling strong, and looking good.

So, if you’re currently feeling frustrated and unmotivated, it’s most likely NOT because you’re lazy. (And if that is the case, you’re in the wrong place.)

If you’re feeling unmotivated, it’s likely because you did put in the work—and it didn’t get you results.
Undeniable Fitness Truth #2
If you trade your joint health for strength gains,
you’re guaranteed to lose both.

Let me just get this right out of the way: I believe there’s a special place in hell for any coach who feels he’s doing a service to his clients by helping them build muscle or strength at the expense of their joint-health or movement patterns.

We already know what happens if a program moves too slowly and we don’t get quick results.

But more dangerously (and more commonly) programs try to get you results by crushing you in the gym. And this often leads to injuries and joint problems.

In fact, I spend a lot of my time with clients fixing the years of improper training they were given.

Most of us are attracted to this style of programming because we love to push ourselves. We tell ourselves “Pain is part of the deal”. Or, we ignore it, hoping that this time will be different. This is especially true when we’ve only ever experienced programs that got us hurt.

But what happens when we follow this path?

Take this ONE story as an example of hundreds that I’ve collected over the years:

A few years ago, one of the world’s top strength coaches called me asking for help. His performance had plateaued and he was moving further and further from his PR’s. He had nagging shoulder and back pain and had been avoiding squats for years.

He was losing the muscle that his career was built on. He couldn’t train how he used to. He was tired of being in pain.

For the time being, he LOOKED good. But he felt like shit.

Within two weeks on my program, I had this world-famous strength coach doing squats, bench presses, and deadlifts pain-free for the first time in years.

And now he’s taking what he learned from me and using it to improve his own training programs with his own clients. That makes me incredibly happy. After all, I’m in this industry to help as many people as I can get into the best shape possible.

Which brings me to the last truth.
Undeniable Fitness Truth #3
Most programs only play to your strengths — but the BEST programs erase your weaknesses.

Without a coach and an intelligent program to push us to strengthen our weaknesses, we fall into the vicious cycle of following the same kind of program month after month, year after year, decade after decade—trying to excel at ONE area—without even considering the other markers of true health and fitness.

I know from personal experience.

When I was in college studying Exercise Science and Physiology, I played Division-1 baseball. I was on track to go pro and I had been training HARD for years. I thought I was in the best shape I’d ever be in my life.

But within a month, my whole world came crashing down.

During one of the last games of my Sophomore year, I dove for a ball and felt a tearing pain in my elbow. Within a matter of seconds, my chances of going-pro were gone, and I was faced with a long path to being able to do anything physical — including training which was my passion.

Shortly after, I decided if I couldn’t lift, I’d go for a short run. That’s when I had another disturbing confrontation with reality: After less than half a mile I was nearly puking by the side of the road.

Who was this guy?

I had spent my entire life becoming an athlete. Yet here I was injured, unable to train, and totally, completely, ridiculously out of shape.

It was that day that I decided to dedicate my research, career, and training to developing a system that would help me not just reinforce what I was good at (lifting weights) but help me overcome my weaknesses, too.

Hypertrophy, strength, conditioning, fat-loss, nutrition, mobility, recovery: it’s all important. But most programs only ever focus on one or two of these areas and neglect all of the others.

Then one day we wake up and realize we can’t touch our toes. Or we can’t run a half a mile.

But there’s another option ….
Introducing…

The intelligent, joint-healthy, hardcore training program that’s helped thousands of people build muscle, lose fat, and
gain strength fast.

FHT has been called “the program from hell” and is trusted by the industry’s top fitness experts, elite athletes, and thousands of people worldwide.

What if you could finally break through ANY plateau and build a stronger, more muscular body—even if you have annoying injuries?

What if instead of waiting to “start over” again next Monday (or next month), you could start making progress today?

For the first time ever, I’ve distilled my 10+ years of research and testing into one highly-effective hardcore program. It’s called Functional Hypertrophy Training (FHT).

Functional Hypertrophy Training was designed specifically for people who want to gain muscle, lose fat, and build strength faster than ever before—while bulletproofing their body from injury and overtraining for the long run.

With FHT, I take a hybrid approach to make you more muscular, leaner, stronger, faster, and more powerful, without sacrificing your joints or mobility. You can get the body you want while hitting your PR’s AND reversing the trend of injury and aging.

This program is hardcore in all the right ways. With high reps and high density training — it’ll take your heart-rate to over 200, leave your muscles burning, and take away your breath: but it’s done intelligently.

You’ll be cursing Dr. John during your workout, but you’ll find you recover quickly and finish your workouts feeling strong and accomplished. (Instead of feeling like your joints hurt and you got the crap kicked out of you.)

With FHT, you’re ensuring your best body is still ahead of you.

Even if you already “know” what to do—and just need help doing it.

Even if it’s been awhile since you were consistent.

Even if you have annoying aches and pains that you need to work around.

No more stalled progress. No more “winging it at the gym”. No more waiting for everything to be perfect to make progress.
Here’s everything you get with the
Functional Hypertrophy Training program.

12 weeks of effective, intelligent, joint friendly workouts.

Based on my hybrid training model and the most advanced research in the industry. Designed specifically to get you results in every indicator or health (strength, muscle, mobility, AND conditioning)—without getting hurt.

A customizable nutrition plan.

Expedite your muscle gain or fat loss. Based on your training schedule, how active your day is, and your goals: Get a personal caloric intake and macronutrient breakdown to speed up your progress and enhance your recovery.

Advanced cardio programming for strong people.

Maximum leanness and endurance—without losing muscle.

The 10-Minute Injury Prevention Warm-up.

Bulletproof your body against workout related injuries without wasting any time.

My quick recovery protocol for staying pain free.

I’ll share a detailed recovery day protocol for maintaining mobility, targeting your most vulnerable areas from training, and show how to develop a functional body that works for you in the gym AND in the rest of your life. (No one else does this.)

Video Demonstrations of EVERY exercise:

Over 150 instructional videos showing exactly how to perform each exercise. (Most programs expect you to already know how to do each exercise. Not here. I want you to know exactly what to do so you never get hurt.)

Instant coaching cues:

I’ve included detailed descriptions of each exercise that you can take to the gym with you. (You’ll get the exact cues a personal coach would give you.)

My no B.S. resources for the most advanced recovery techniques.

Including hands on self-myofascial-release, blood-flow restriction, postural restoration, and more. Stop wading through thousands of articles to figure out what works. I’ve tested and tried them all, and put in thousands of hours of research and distilled everything you need to know (and resources for those of you who want to learn more).
For a limited time: you’ll get DIRECT ACCESS TO MY COACHING STAFF & MYSELF.

Look, we all know that a program is only as good as it is for YOUR goals and YOUR unique body and history. Most programs give you exercises and expect that 100% of them will work for you (and if not, too bad). Functional Hypertrophy Training is different.

You’ll be able to ask questions and get feedback directly from myself or my highly experienced staff, and from over a thousand people who have done the FHT program, too.

You’ll get get coaching on your form, feedback on how to tailor the program to your unique body and history, and accountability.

And this community isn’t like any other you’ve been a part of.

Your questions will be answered daily (usually within hours or minutes) and the community is there to help too.

And the people who do FHT are unlike any others — almost 50% of the people in the community are strength-coaches and fitness experts themselves.

So you’ll have access to not just the full Dr. John Rusin team, but some of the other top coaches in the industry.

That’s something you won’t get anywhere else without paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

This type of coaching and access is unparalleled at this price point, and it’s not something we’ll be able to offer for forever. At some point, we won’t be able to keep up with new people joining the community and we’ll have to shut this offer down.
Just ask them: What people are saying about

“… I started to give up on the thought of ever getting my pre-pregnancy bod back… FHT was just what I needed”

“After having my second baby, I started to give up on the thought of ever getting my pre-pregnancy bod back. Having to take care of 2 kids under 2 years old, keeping up with the house, making sure the dog was ok, and working full time was exhausting! I knew I had to make a change, for my physical AND mental well-being. Fortunately, FHT program was just what I needed. Following a program that was laid out for me took away any doubts and any thinking, all I needed to do was show up and train. I set aside an hour a day, between 3-5 days a week, followed the training schedule and nutrition advice & I quickly started to see results and feel better. FHT helped me be a better mom to my 2 little boys, a better wife and a better me! I’m looking forward to starting 2nd half of the FHT SuperPack!”

I can truly say with the utmost confidence that this program is excellent for folks of varying experience levels, and ideal for anyone looking to be a stronger, better looking, and better moving human being.

“I’m approaching 41 years old and am in the best shape of my life”

“January 2nd I was not in my best shape. Diet was off, injuries, little sleep due to work and baby. Now (5 months later) I’m approaching 41 years old and am in the best shape of my life. Dr. Rusin has changed the way I train and the way I think about training. Can’t imagine doing any other programmes. Let’s see where I can get by 45!”

Nick H., UK

“I gained 10 pounds while dropping to 10% body fat.”

“I gained 10 pounds while dropping to 10% body fat. But I was even happier that I was able to stick with a program and finish it.”

Derek K., USA

“He has influenced not only my own training, but the work I do with clients.”

“I’ve found one ongoing problem in the clinical industry is a detachment from proper strength and conditioning directives to help accelerate a proper rehab process. Dr. John Rusin bridges this gap in a very comprehensive way. His information hits home for me. He has influenced not only my own training, but the work I do with clients. I constantly recommend his work as a reliable resource for actionable training information.”

Lee Boyce,
Strength Coach, Internationally published fitness writer

“Thanks John for a program that is helping to rectify all the imbalances that I ignored”

“The girl on the left was doing 6+hrs of cardio a week, plus 8ish hours of lifting every week, on top of working a full time job and the regular life duties of being a mom of two littles and wife. I was EXHAUSTED… and began to dread every minute of cardio. My body begged for reprieve, but I just had to keep grinding. The girl on the right (from this am), couldn’t stop smiling after doing sprints to finish off lower body hyper. It felt AMAZING to be drenched in sweat. It was only 15:00 of cardio I know, but I did it by choice, and loved every minute of it. My body FUNCTIONS now, so some HIIT is a celebration, not a punishment. Thanks John for a program that is helping to rectify all the imbalances that I ignored last year because I was too busy grinding it out. Thanks for a program that focuses on quality of movement, so we can all become beasts in the gym!”

Is Functional Hypertrophy Training
right for me?

You’ll almost never hear someone in my industry say this: My training programs aren’t appropriate for everyone.

There are hundreds of Instagram “fitness experts” out there who will sell a program to anyone who wants one — but I’m not interested in appealing to someone who reads one article on some obscure bodybuilding blog and decides he’s ready for an “advanced” program.

Instead, the people who follow my programs are serious about building muscle and strength in the most intelligent way possible—without getting plagued by injuries or burning out from overtraining.

So who is Functional Hypertrophy Training for—and who is it not for?
Functional Hypertrophy Training is right for you if:

✓ You love to train and want to be able to do it for life.
If you want to be able to maintain your muscle, strength, and quality of movement for the rest of your life, this program was made for you.

✓ You have some experience lifting and want to learn how to do it without getting hurt.
This program was designed for people who have some lifting experience. If you currently know how to deadlift, squat, and press without pain — this program is perfect for you. Even if you have an old annoying injury (and the go-ahead from your doctor) this program will still work for you. I believe the focus of training programs should be teaching you how to train to get results—without getting hurt again.

✓ You want a step-by-step program that improves performance (even outside of the gym).
I believe that training in the gym should always improve your performance outside of the gym. Whether that’s being able to keep-up with your kids, or competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Triathlons. If you want a program that enhances your other hobbies and daily life – this is for you.
Functional Hypertrophy Training is NOT right for you if:

✘ You’ve never lifted weights before.
Look, I believe investing in your training and health is a smart move. That said, if you’ve never picked up a weight and you can’t squat, press, or deadlift without pain, this program is not the place to start. I’ve created programs for beginners in order to work up to this level of training, and I’m happy to recommend one to you.

✘ You’re looking for a quick-fix or a silver bullet—without putting in the work.
When my clients get results, they tell their family and friends, and more people find out about this approach to training. So it’s crucial to me and my business that you get results. This program will give you a body that looks and moves like never before — but only if you put in the work. Don’t buy this program if you’re looking to just collect another training program.

✘ You’ve been recently injured and haven’t gotten the go-ahead for your doctor.
Many of my clients have had nagging old injuries and still gotten incredible results by doing the FHT program (with the OK from their doctor or physio, of course). That said, if you’re in a cast, if you’re still doing Physical Therapy, if you haven’t gotten the okay from your doctor, please don’t do the program. If you want something to look forward to when you’re healed and have the go-ahead, that’s just fine. But DO NOT DO this program if you’re actively hurt..

“I have been able to stay injury free while competing at my highest level of all time.”

“What truly set Dr. John Rusin apart was his deep understanding and passion for my training after my injury had healed in order to prevent future injuries and keep my competing at the highest level possible. With Dr. John, I have been able to stay injury free while competing at my highest level of all time.”

Kelly Hooper,
Ironman 2015 All-World Athlete

“I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a challenge. I’m very happy with my progress and you will be too.”

“Being a new father comes with many challenges: one being able to plan a workout schedule and sticking to it. Mentally I was at a place where I knew I didn’t have the energy to plan my own workouts and just wanted to follow a program by someone I can trust—Dr. John Rusin was that trusted someone. I have been following his work for quite some time now, so when the opportunity came to give his FHT program a try, it was a no brainer. Given John’s knowledge and background in sports performance, fitness, and rehabilitation, his program offers a nice blend of strength training protocols and recovery methods to help you train pain-free. The video tutorials and information that’s provided are very helpful in guiding you through the program, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a challenge. I’m very happy with my progress and you will be too.”

Johnny Tea,
Strength Coach/ Manual Therapist

“I’ve been very happy with the results from training on the FHT program”

“I’m extremely selective when choosing a training program for myself, but John and his work definitely fit the bill in an overwhelming fashion here. I’ve been very happy with the results from training on the FHT program, from the incredibly detailed coaching notes he provides to the exercise video tutorials and personal touch. This program is loaded with helpful information and content. FHT gives you the necessary toolbox to train hard in the gym and recover intelligently in between sessions. I give this program my highest recommendation.”
