Mike Morgan – Conversion Crash Course
Who Else Wants to Survive
The Four Horsemen of the
Conversion Apocalypse?
Get a jump on the market and act before the story hits the mainstream. Many heads will roll and blood will run in the streets… but you can avoid becoming a statistic if you know what to do… before it’s too late.
The Lowdown…
The call me “Million Dollar Mike”, but my name is really Mike Morgan.
I’ve been on the Internet doing business starting in 1996. In the pre-dot-bomb cyberworld, I founded the first online Investment Bond brokerage (BondAgent.com.) That’s where I cut my teeth in the advertising and marketing world.
We eventually sold $200,000,000 in bonds, and as CEO, I was frequently interviewed by financial media giants like BusinessWeek, Reuters and Dow Jones News.
During that venture, I discovered my love for creating killer advertising. It was sell bonds, or die. But the problem was… investment sales are perhaps THE most regulated market on Earth. So you had to learn how to advertise without hype… in fact, I couldn’t make claims at all. Only the giants in the business had the lawyers and armies of compliance officers could do that.
So, I made do.
At the time, I’d never heard of copywriting, much less been trained in it. A few years after selling out I was taking stock in my life. I wasn’t enjoying my Executive Recruiting job… and I missed the Internet.
I did some soul searching.
When I looked back on my heady years at the helm of BondAgent, I discovered I really loved two things about it.
1.Growing a business at hyper-speed
2.Writing reliable, profitable advertising.
It was soon after I discovered the world of copywriting. I studied the greats, Halbert, Bencivenga, Carlton, Sugarman and Garfinkel. I worked my tail off and got humiliating critiques from some of these guys… but I learned fast and never made the same mistakes twice.
I spent money out the nose on coaching to hone my advertising chops.
Some may even say it became an obsessive passion.
Sucking In Cash Like A Vacuum On Steroids
Soon, I wrote my first million dollar ad for Ewen Chia’s Super Affiliate Cloning Program…
And it all exploded from there.
Since then, I’ve been creating feeding frenzies of sales for the likes of Mark Joyner, Rick Raddatz, Michael Cheney and more. I’ve also helped dozens of others as a consultant and helped them achieve phenomenal conversion rates. (Just take a look at the comments along the right of this page for proof.)
But I’m not just a copywriter. Ask any of my high-profile clients. I’m a high level business partner dedicated to helping people create their own multi-million dollar businesses. That’s why I’m the go-to guy for some of the best.
Listen, I never wanted to do the guru thing. Don’t want the ego that goes with it. I’ve turned down a dozen speaking engagements because I don’t like the spotlight. I’m a family man with 4 growing kids, and that’s important to me. Not to mention I like being the “behind the scenes” guy… so “guruism” isn’t for me.
Problem is, nobody is really hitting the conversion problem with much more than copywriting. And that’s a shame because copy is only part of the solution.
What’s behind the problem? Read on and find out…
Who Exactly Are These Forces Of
Online Destruction?
I’ll get to that in a moment. But first, it’s no secret that the online battlefield has taken it’s fair share of casualties.
Email open and click rates are plunging. Competition is multiplying. People are hunkering down. They unsubscribe from opt-in lists that don’t provide value. And the state of salesmanship online is in shambles.
Here’s the real kicker, if you’ve been around online for long, you know this to be true.
Reality is, it’s part of a natural cycle in business. As the Internet marketing medium matures, it goes the way of Newspapers, Radio and Television before it. They all started with a bang (as advertising platforms) and people slowly became numb to the noise.
How many TV ads make you jump into the car in your rush to buy, or call an operator to order now?
Bottom line: Four powerful forces are brewing into the perfect storm. Just like the storms that hit more mature medias.
Here’s the first one…
Market Saturation Blues

You heard it here. Online marketing has reached the saturation stage.
How do I know this?
Partly because I spent over 11 years tracking business cycles as a profession… and another 7 as a hobby. In the Bond business, I had to know the economic and business cycle movements like the back of my hand.
And it’s readily apparent Internet Marketing is at saturation point right now. Maturity is just around the corner.
Is there more room?
Sure, there always is. But it’s getting more competitive, more cut-throat and harder to make a buck than ever.
Just look at how many emails you get daily. If you’ve been around the ‘net awhile, no doubt, you’re on more lists than ever. That’s a result of market saturation.
There’s just more people doing business online. And tharesults in a lot more marketing clutter. And you get exposed to their marketing and watch them create magic… or not.
It comes down to this. The guys and gals in the top 20 percent know something that you don’t.
In truth, there’s two primary skills needed to make money online.
Generate hordes of traffic and rely on the law of large numbers
Scientifically tweak advertising to get maximum conversion
Sure, there’s list building, tech stuff, and the miracle cure of the week. But traffic and conversion are the core of churning the cash.
Of the two, conversion is where it’s at because it makes the dough.
And that’s what every successful marketer in the top 20% of marketing knows. It’s where the spend the majority of their time.
Sure traffic is important too, but it’s not the most bang for the buck. Because without conversion, you’re “working” for free.
It’s simply too expensive to bombard your site with hundreds of thousands of relevant visitors a day. What’s more, marketing by branding alone is risky business (unless you have a war-chest of dough to churn through.)
This is only one of the problems. You need to know all 4 to see the complete picture.
Stay with me and I’ll tell you the rest of the story.
Next up…
The Online Isolation Chamber
Here’s a flash… in this super-saturated market, it’s more confusing than ever. You just don’t know who to follow. And many of the so-called “step-by-step” Internet Marketing products just don’t live up to their hype.
That means the vast majority of folks online try to go it alone.
That means no staff, maybe a few comrades they met in forums, and pressures from friends and family that they are certifiably insane.
Doesn’t make for a good support system, does it?
So they keep looking for the big “secret” that will turn them into a gazzilionaire overnight. They load the hard drive with products they never study. Or they get into a coaching program and don’t follow through.
I got some news… making it online takes work. That’s right… that nasty four letter word.
Look, I have a lot of friends online. Big producers. None of them had their breakthrough until they got out of isolation.
Once they got some mentoring, and followed through, that’s when they became “instant successes.”
Funny, isn’t it?
But what you don’t know (and most don’t tell you) is that it took years of struggle… and isolation before they hit the money-zone.
Why You Are Drowning In A
Sea of Insignificance
Remember looking in your email inbox this morning?
Were you looking at your morning mail based on subject lines… or who the email was from?
Chances are, you look at your email based on who sent it… not the snappy subject line.
That’s because you yearn for something meaningful… like valuable information.
That means the lack of received value is horseman number three. I call it insignificance.
It doesn’t take long to separate the worthy mail from the out-and-out sales pitches. Sure, some of them (the smart ones) give you value, and mix it with product recommendations… but at least you get something worthwhile first.
The rest?
A pack of hungry wolves who don’t know selling is a really about reciprocity – not rape and pillage.
That’s exactly why you look at the who before the what.
And the funny thing is, it doesn’t take much extra effort to add value to others in your marketing. Hang on, I’ll show you how in a minute.
But the last horsemen is the most deadly of the 4…
What Is The Death Of
Internet Marketers?

You’ve read the “Death of Internet Marketing” and/or the “Death of the Salesletter” by now I’m sure. At very least, you’ve heard of them.
Now, mind you, there is some actionable information in those two reports. I learned a lot myself. I implemented much of the wisdom they passed my way.
But the problem is… I think they skirted around the real issue. Maybe it’s not sexy enough, but it’s the problem that drives more Internet Marketers back to a J.O.B. than any other single factor.
I call it The Anti-Salesman.
Let me explain. The very best marketers I know, are all darn good salesmen (or women…) You have to be. After all you’re in marketing to sell stuff, right?
But it can’t be done without salesmanship… no matter how much technical wizardry you have in your bag of tricks.
There is an out-and-out lack of killer persuasion happening online. (That doesn’t mean everybody… just the majority.)
The high end copywriters nail it, the top marketers leverage it, but John Q. Public just doesn’t make the grade.
And even great salespeople who get online have a difficult time getting it right.
In This Business, If You Can’t Sell,
It’s Game Over
Now, I understand the fact that “salespeople” have gotten a bad rap for generations. We were practically brainwashed that way. Our parents bashed salespeople (unless that was their profession… or they hated being one.) Too many used car dealers and pushy insurance salesmen only poured gas on the fire. Practically everyone has a one liner about salesmen.
So it’s not your fault the word makes you recoil. Programming from early life easily sticks with you like glue. Unless you do something about it.
But if you are committed to making your Internet Marketing pay it’s time to banish the Anti-Salesman from your life forever. Because he will suck the life (and any hope of big profits) out of your marketing.
And it even gets better…
It becomes easier to get anything in life once you harness the power of persuasion. It’s an important life skill, no matter who you are.
And it’s buried within you. You didn’t always take no for an answer when you were a kid. You were always talking your parents into one scheme or another.
That’s proof that it’s there… It’s just buried. Pull out your “hidden” persuasion skills and see your results skyrocket. Because if you can’t talk people into buying, the dream is dead.
