According to the United States Census Bureau, by 2030, all baby boomers will be older than age 65, expanding the size of the older population so that 1 in every 5 residents will be retirement age. As the population ages, there will be even greater demand for healthcare professionals of all stripes, including nurses. And unlike many other fast growing “jobs of the future,” the doors of a nursing career are open to those without a college degree—and the salaries are relatively high.
