To make the situation worse, I had just moved to a new city and I didnât have a network.

I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster every dayâŠ

I was at a friendâs wedding where I ran into Mark, a professor from Stanford University.
Mark looked like he could have been Einsteinâs brother with his wild grey hair and thick wire-framed glasses.
Over dinner, I told him about my âno responseâ resumes and what a struggle it had been to interviews.
I remember like it was yesterdayâŠhow he looked at me through his glasses. With a mix of compassion and knowing he saidâŠ
