In 2014 I was a fed-up advertising art director Googling, “how to make money online”.

I was 5 years into my career, barely scraping by, and the thought of becoming an 80 hr-a-week-working creative director—the next rung on the corporate ladder—was as appealing as a punch in the face.

I desperately wanted to start my own online business so that I could have the autonomy, flexibility, and freedom I’d been craving after reading Tim Ferris’ The 4-Hour Workweek.

I felt like a failure, wondering why I didn’t seem to be able to break past the revenue ceiling I’d hit.

And I felt like even MORE of a failure when I got laid off from the ad agency right after the holidays at the start of 2017.

And when I got pregnant a few months later, I KNEW I had to find a way to make it work if I wanted to give my growing family a chance to thrive.

And that’s when I discovered low-content publishing.

With writers no longer necessary to scale, I was off to the races, generating over $100K in profits in just 14 months.
