The Freedom Surfer Course
Introduction

My name is Simon I am the author of this course. I am originally from Canada, and have lived the Zero Tax Nomad lifestyle for many decades. This course will share the knowledge that I have gained over thousands of meetings, years in business, and a lifetime living outside the box. My main focus is on tax optimization. However, I also cover how you can obtain a second passport, a new residence, how to register your business in another country and the best asset protection strategies. Lifestyle hacking and long-term planning are some other topics.-term planning. My goal is not to tell your story. “do that” But to help you be more informed about all options so you can make better decisions in your business and life. You can reach me via the red contact banner (large screen) or button (small screen).

This module focuses on citizenship and the importance positioning. Module two covers residence, module three covers businesses, module four covers assets security, module five covers lifestyle hacking, module six covers long.-Planning for the long term.

A little history about citizenship

The concept of citizenship was first developed thousands of years ago in a Greek city.-states. Citizenship was a great privilege back then. It made it possible to distinguish free men from slaves, women, and barbarians. It was not the right it is now. It could be revoked due to a change in your economic status, criminal convictions, etc. It marked you as a free man with good economic status and gave you the right to participate in public life. Aristotle famously stated that such participation was so important: “To take no part in the running of the community’s affairs is to be either a beast or a god!”.

The Romans took the Greek concept citizenship and made it an empire.-Building tool. They granted citizenship to a vast portion of the empire’s population and by doing so, they legitimized their rule over those they had conquered. They gave citizens rights and obligations. They made them feel Roman, and made them proud to be Roman. They created the idea that all citizens should be treated equally under the law.

Over the thousands of year that have passed since ancient Rome and Greece, the meaning and definition of citizenship has changed, but the idea of citizenship, which entails participation and equality in public life, has remained the same.

There are many types of citizenship available today. The most common form of citizenship is the nation-level. It is so common that nearly everybody has it. It is usually granted at the time of birth but can often be obtained through other routes, such as naturalization.

Another form of citizenship is that of a supranational organisation. The European Union is an example of a supranational organization. People like us find the main benefit of this form of citizenship to be that it allows them to take a shortcut to becoming citizens of another organization. If you don’t want to go through the tedious process of acquiring German citizenship, this is an option. Instead, get the Bulgarian citizenship in two years and use it to reside in Germany as an EU citizen. It is expected that there will be a greater number of people in our community who are interested in this form of citizenship in the future, as a result of the free movement within CARICOM/UNASUR.

Territorial citizenship is another option. This is not a common form, and only applies to a handful of countries. Hong Kong and Macau, for example. The citizens of these territories are full citizens of the People’s Republic of China but their right of abode is restricted to the territory in which the citizenship was issued (Hong Kong or Macau). They are not permitted to reside in other parts of the country, even though they hold a Chinese passport.

There is also cultural citizenship. Although it is quite common, cultural citizenship is not a useful form of citizenship and is certainly not worth the effort in the context of independence. The Commonwealth of Nations is a good example of cultural citizenship. Citizens of member states receive “some” Benefits in other member countries, such as the right of vote in certain types.

Citizenship: Positioning

A long-term goal of any organization is to be able to communicate effectively with its members.-The term Zero Tax Nomad should also be used. The logic is clear. With the rise in supranational organisations such as the EU and UNASUR/MERCOSUR allowing it to be possible to obtain the right of abode on entire continents, sometimes quite easily. One example is that a French citizen can live and work in almost all European countries. A Peruvian citizen can expect to enjoy freedom of movement and equal opportunities in almost all of South America once UNASUR/MERCOSUR has completed implementation (half).-It is already possible to move with restricted freedom.

This freedom of movement opens up a variety of interesting shortcuts. For example, naturalization in Argentina takes only 2 years instead of the 3-5 is required for UNASUR countries. This means that someone could immigrate from Argentina to seek a job in another UNASUR member.-Once citizenship is acquired, it is possible to become a citizen of the United States. The same is true in the European Union as well as the CARICOM. Some countries sell their passports and run investment programs (see Section 4.3).

Four supranational organizations currently grant some form or freedom of movement to citizens. The European Union is the most well-known, the others being NAFTA/USMCA CARICOM, UNASUR/MERCOSUR, and UNASUR/MERCOSUR. These organizations offer many benefits, such as the ability to access so many countries via them. Imagine being able to live and work anywhere in the world!

While most prefer to get one new citizenship they may find it interesting to know that you can still acquire citizenship in each of these organizations within five years (see section 4.4.2).
